Western Berks Ambulance


Western Berks Ambulance provides both BLS, (Basic Life Support) and ALS, (Advanced Life Support) emergency services to Robeson Township and to a 150 plus square mile area in Western Berks County. The company operates fifteen (15) ambulances, nine (9) wheelchair vans and several supervisor vehicles out of six stations.


The ambulance service is staffed with highly trained Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians, handling thousands of emergency and non-emergency transports per year. The service area, call volume, staff and the type of services offered, make Western Berks the largest non-profit ambulance service in Berks County. The Service area consists of a diverse rural/suburban area with both high and low populations.

Southern Berks Regional EMS


Southern Berks Regional EMS was established through a merger between Birdsboro Community Ambulance, Governor Mifflin Area Ambulance and Southern Berks Paramedics in October 1995.


Southern Berks regional EMS operate three stations in Birdsboro, Grill and Amity, providing both Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) emergency services to the residents of Robeson, Amity, Brecknock, Cumru and Union Townships as well as the Boroughs of Birdsboro, Kenhorst. Mohnton and Shillington.


Tower Health and The Southern Berks Regional Emergency Medical Services (SBREMS). agreed in 2000 to merge SBREMS with Tower DIRECT, the non-profit ambulance company owned by Tower Health. This merger creates a unified patient transportation system that serves Berks County and the Tower Health service area.

Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS


The Elverson Fire Company purchased their first ambulance, a 1934 Buick, which was placed in service in May 1948. In 2006 Elverson Fire Company Ambulance became Elverson EMS switching from station number 32 to station number 89. In 2015, Elverson EMS and Honey Brook Fire Company Ambulance division merged into one single company, Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS.


The Elverson station remains station 89, while Honey Brook moves from Station 33 to Station 189.
